is this a 2006 variety?

    I opened a roll of 06 cents and found several (if not over half) have the same crack (on the C) and a chip (on the E). Is this known as a die variation? I went to coppercoins.com, but they haven't posted any 06s yet.

    an error on the mint machine? looks kinda cool, but not something i'd see without prompting.

    Yes technically since all of the coins struck from those dies will show the same damage it would be a variety although a very minor one. As for being a listed variety on coppercoins.com I think that only major varieties such as doubled dies and repunched mint marks are listed. Regardless it's still a neat find, and may be of intrest to a variety and error collector.
