Howdy. I was just looking through a roll from the bank I picked up on the way home and found this. Is this a 1970-S Small Date? I have convinced myself that it is after looking at this site: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1970Ssmalldate.html Thanks.
It certainly looks like it, but I would like to see a larger photo of the date. The criteria besides the curl of the nine pointing at the 7 is to look where the top bar of the 7 joins the vertical bar. The large date has a crease, the small date 7 does not. You can see this in the URL you posted. So check that on yours. It should have no crease. Jim
You have the right site, but the small date 7 is level with the 9 and 0 and the 9 more curled inward. Yours has neither of these criteria.
Yes, I see. Thanks for your input. I drew the line across on the image like RLM did and see it is not a SD. When I set it by my other 1970-S I thought the 9 curled more but now I see it really does not.
Nope, that'a a large date. The easiest way to tell is the bottom of the 7, look how far the large date extends below the 0. On the small date the top AND the bottom are lined up with the 0.
