Is this $2 worth anything more than $2?

I know next to nothing about paper money. My mom just gave me this out of her purse to pay me for her lunch and It has a fairly low serial number.

I know it isn't too old and the number isn't super low but I might hang onto it if it's worth it.

It's in pretty decent shape as far as I can tell. It's still fairly crisp.

Thank you for any info you can give me.

I am unable to find any reason or attribute concerning your 1976 two dollar bill that would encourage me to value it above face value. I went over a mental checklist.

    Is it uncirculated, no.
Is it a star note, no.
Is the serial number fancy, no.
Is it an error note, no
Is it from a low print run, no.
Does it have a courtesy autograph, no.
    Is it rare, no.

I'm sorry to say, but your note is extremely ordinary.

I would spend this $2 like I would any bill with CoolNumbers coolness score below 95%. Yours has a Coolness score of just 93.6%.

If you want a keeper visit your local bank and ask; you never know. My credit union usually orders some for me at Christmas time and they are all crisp CU and I will normally keep a couple. Otherwise they are great stocking stuffers and TIPS during Christmas and New Years.

Oddly enough, except for the letter prefix, that is the same serial number as my first pistol, which I still remember.

I found these two consecutive 2 dollar bills while looking for star notes. The thing Im curious about is the mark on the right side of both bills. Normally I would assume it is just someone who wanted to sign their money for kicks but it did not bleed through the note so I'm curious about it though I assume it's nothing cool. Im new to currency collecting so any ides would be useful. 20170107_152131.jpg 20170107_152143.jpg 20170107_152208.jpg 20170107_152204.jpg 20170107_152131.jpg 20170107_152143.jpg 20170107_152208.jpg 20170107_152204.jpg 20170107_152131.jpg 20170107_152143.jpg Any thoughts?
