hi i have a bank bag of canada 1963 one cent coins. a couple of days ago i tore a hole in the side of the bag with the intentions of having a look through it. i havnt started yet. how ever i am curious to know if these are red or brown. i do not know when looking at these new uncirculated one cent pieces. thanks hope someone can help and if so is there a value on them? as singles or in lots. thanks again
wow over 70 views and no one weighed in on the question i hope someone comes through with an answer to my question. thanks
I have a 1963 RCM bag that I still use for storing coins I take back to the bank - curiously RCM shipped their cents out in $60 bags - not $50 like in the USA. Those large old linen bags are great for big coin hauls.
Nice red Keep an eye out for hanging 3's Ref: (http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1963&years=1-cent-1953-1964)
thanks foir the info. now assuming they are red or most of them. how should i keep them. and a bag like this i assume, some can grade fairly high. what would the value you be? thats the missing answer.i weighed the bag i think its about 15lbs or so..
another quick question. how many coins were put in these bags? does anyone know. if the majority are red maybe i can get 2.00 each for them,, take a while to sell them i think
~15lbs; it was likely a $20 bag of 1 cent(2,000 cents) (1963 1 cent weighs about 3.24gr so a $20 bag would be 6,480gr or about 14.3lbs)
thanks for the answers to my questions. however i would like to know what is the best way to sell these. as well what can i expect value wise? thanks again great site and wonderful members..
just love this site. who else do. lots of good topics, questions. and a wealth of knowledge from other members answers. thanks so much everyone .
Hi Maggie123, here's a link on known errors for your coins http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1963&years=1-cent-1953-1964 theres lots of known errors for this year, good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!
Maggie, Over on Ebay it's been hit or miss with these. I've seen them sell for as little as $3 a roll up to $10 a roll. That's definitely how you would want to sell them. Unfortunately, they're not even selling for $.99 as single coins.
