I come across several bills that were grade by PMG and PCGS and they stated they were from the Rickey Collection.I know that at one point the Rickey collection had over 93% of all possible large-size Friedberg numbers. Is there a premium for the bills with the Rickey designation?:rolling: Thanks Randy

Randy, to some collectors having that pedigree will add to the premium. i know our own RickieB has a few notes from the Rickey collection. Anytime there is a pedigree listed on the TPG holder it can bring in more money. now as far as the pedigrees its really up to the collector and how bad they want the note with the pedigrees which raise your premium. also if the note in general is a high graded or rare note that pedigree will add more to what people are willing to pay. right now i think the "Miami Beach Hoard" is what seems to be going around lately. hope this info helps. i am sure othesr will chime in

    Hello Randy....

This is a topic that I follow very close! Pedigreed notes are simply notes that a collector has assembled the complete set of, thats the only way any TPG will Pedigree them! Now some collectors are known for their ability to select wonderful examples of notes and the Ricky Collection is one of those!

I follow notes from the Thomas Flynn Collection and currently have 6 in my collection. Will You pay more for the notes? Well yes and no. Again the market is a supply and demand market....price guides are available just as that , a guide! If a person like me for example wanted a Tom Flynn note and a bidding war ensued, well I would have to set a limit and stick with it.

Some people are very picky, and I am one of them...LOL
I only want the finest that I can afford and have at times knowingly over paid for something I could not live without!
On the other hand, I have bought notes at Auction that were really under priced...so in the long run it all works out!

Everyone has their own methods and when that rare note pops up, it may very well be from one of the Pedigreed sets, if that happens and it is indeed rare...yep expect to pay that premium...after all someone bought it and is now offering it back to the marketplace at a slightly higher price tag!

Thanks Urban...but it is the Tom Flynn Collection.

I appreciate you remembering that I try to learn about a particular Collector.

Hey RickieB, been meaning to ask you a question regarding Tom Flynn Collection Notes. I see that PMG has them labeled Thomas M Flynn Collection and PCGS goes with Ex: Tom Flynn Collection. I assume they are the same thing?

I almost bought a nice note from that collection a week or so ago. You'd even like this one as it's a NY note and has a nice serial number and really nice seal color.
