is there any way to see the date on a no date coin? i am not talking about any nickels, i am aware that some people apply chemicals to nickels to be able to read the date. but what about other types of no date coins? i have never cleaned any coins or anything similar to cleaning coins and i would not want to do that. is there any other way?

I think that you are able to put acid on any type of coin in order to 'bring out' the date.

I think one of the professional error specialist know how his name ? I think FRED If I am not mistaken he sold 1965 25c both tails with NO DATE...Is anyone of you remember a magician coin? but his both tail 1965 quarter is certified by one of TPG. It look like DNA of a Die used to find out a date of No date coin..< something like that..

    Not without damaging it.

A 'no date' coin is just that.....no date. Unless there are specific markers to attribute the date (such in the case with certain Standing Liberty quarters) the coin is a loser. Basically, I consider 'no dates' junk if they're silver and throw backs if they're anything else......

1808/7 draped bust half cent? just as an example. the last 8 in the date is not clear enough to tell. 1808-7 draped bust half cent.jpg

Put iron filings on top of the coin and a strong magnet under the coin. The filings may image the complete date. This does no harm to the coin.
