Not really no. Just place the coin on the scanner bed, close the cover and scan it. Then crop the pic, change the size to what you want it to be and save it to a file. What kind of problem is it that you are having ?
Hi, My scanner program allows me to crop most of the background out before I scan and that saves a lot of time. I also scan into a photo program so I can save the pic right away in that program. I also scan at 300 dpi multiplied to 2 or 3 times. Then I reduce the size of the pic in the photo program. Have Fun, Bill
The thing to do is to just buy a digital camera. Then you can take pictures of coins or anything else and put them right into a computer.
Thank you, I figured out how to make the images clear but when I try to attach them to a reply it keeps saying that my file is to large, how can i make the file smaller. I would like to show my coins.
There has to be some kind of photoshop type program on your computer. Most come with several these days and all of them allow you to open up your scan onscreen and resize it.If all else fails you can go to start/programs/accessories/paint/open file/image/stretch-skew/ .Whatever program you use, check when you try to attach the pic to your coin talk post,it will tell you what size it is if it's over 100KB.So if it says it's 144KB you need to reduce it by about 1/3 so in the stretch/skew boxes, put 70/70 to get your file down to 70% then go back to file/save as/ and voila! smaller pic.
Are you trying to upload the pictures from your computer to the site? If so, there may be a limit. I use www.photobucket.com to upload mine. They even resize it so the picture is small enough to work with forums. Never had a problem with photobucket. Super easy to use. Just find the picture, upload it, copy the link provided, and now you have a picture on a forum!
