i would love to have a cheat sheat with all of the most common stuff from each denomination to give to friends that work at cash registers. i'd also love to have cheat sheets for each denomination to help me learn what to look for when searching. i've been reading up on coins for days online but it seems most of those sites and pages are better for confirming what you have found than telling you what to look for. anyone know of any such cheat sheets?
It is lacking a bit when it comes to errors and low mintage dates but check out the FAQ sticky. It will get you to most of what to look for and covers all of the silver at least!
If I were you I would create my own "cheat sheet". Refer to your Red Book (you do have a Red Book, don't you?) and add the coins that you desire to your list. That way your "cheat sheet" is tailored to your tastes.
already been there and found some good stuff but i've already memorized the silver years for things. finding silver is what got me started wanting to do this but it seems like its pointless to look through stuff for only silver when looking at it anyway. not only that but there seems to be so few silver pieces that it makes it boring whne thats all your looking for. so far i've found one silver dime after searching 50 rolls of dimes and 100 rolls of nickels. i have found a bunch of penny's i like that probably arent worth anything but have neat toning. just wish i coud clean all the green junk and shine em a bit. i've got the 2010 version but am hoping to order the current one and cherrypickers guide soon.
