Hello, I wanted to see if you all thought this was a genuine 1909 s VDB. I've dealt mostly in silver coins so this is a relatively new area for me. Any evaluative input is welcome. Let me know if there's anything additional you need. Thanks!
That "S" sure looks funny to me. I cannot make out enough to say it is fake - particularly on a coin that deteriorated. Take a look here and maybe you can see something. http://www.cointalk.com/t78043/
I am sorry to say, but I am certain it is not genuine VDB S The reverse appears like it may be a Philly VDB Mike
The S mintmark looks too large, and notice on the reverse: A genuine 1909-S VDB has the N in UNITED ibulging at the bottom, not sharp and well-angled. Your lacks this diagnostic as well. Best Regards, :hail: George
