Not an expert either but from those photos? I'd pass. 'specially 'cause o' the jing.... FBL and toning don't add nothin' in my book. Others will disagree.
wow that is one ugly toned franklin. that toning would have scared me away. i think the FBL and the grade is what sold it.
That is actually pretty nice for a 49S Franklin. Franklin's don't generally get the smooth colors that Morgans do. Those bell lines are hammered as well. At the top of the market in 2007-2008, Heritage has numerous 66FBL's that traded for more than that. Recently, however, the price level seems to be $400-$600. So yeah, attractive coin but the buyer paid about double what its worth today.
