    Hi all,

Wanted to determine the authenticity of this coin. What do you think?

I'm going to go with a no. Nothing blaring, but just something about it. The wear looks odd in places. Pretty easy to find out though, just send it to PCGS for $20.

something about the front left side between the stars and hair.. and also the L in Liberty looks off.

I'm no expert, so this may be completely off...but I use these threads to learn..

I thought the same thing about the front left side between the stars and hair and also the reverse denticles are completely missing between the tail of the eagle and and up between the C and I in AMERICA. They don't look worn, because the rim is still raised there...they just look filled in

I hope an expert can weigh in here. But there are flaws... which may or may not be attributed to repair

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

No. That looks like a fake.

If you have to ask the question, you should probably stick to buying these certified.

My first impression was that someone tried to rough it up to give it some character.

Anyone else notice what appears to be 'bubbles' on the obverse at about 11 o'clock? Sure seems like it could be cast bubbles to my eyes.

I think it's genuine. The rough area looks like tooling and maybe a repaired hole. Cleaning also...

I would say genuine with the given pictures. I think it is going out on a limb to say it is cleaned with only these two pictures.

Yes I believe it is real Is not collar struck just like a real one would be. Is not cast and appears to have legitimate wear. The edge is lettered as it should be. But I believe it to be holed and plugged over her head and cleaned as well

I see a corresponding area of discoloration on the reverse by the tail where it was plugged

It does appear to be genuine... But I suspect bill is right.

I believe Bill is correct.Real enough but I would stay away. Even if it is not plugged, it is just not a good looking piece and certainly was cleaned.

If there was a hole there at one time, it appears as though they have done a really good job plugging it! The coin lacks no details do to the plug.
