Is it possible to ID this coin...

    ... or should I throw it away?
    I was told it might be byzantine. It is rather tiny, thin and light.

    I'll guess it might be a Helena but that is using a lot of imagination. It will never be fully identified to mint and minor details. I hate to propose throwing away any coin but the cash value here is probably approaching zero. rx5277bb3011.jpg

    Hi Doug,

    I know nothing of ancient coins. I just started collecting 19th and 20th century coins and tokens.

    To me the person on the coin looks to have a rather prominent(long) nose. Way bigger than Helena.

    I think Doug is right, keep in mind these coins are not as uniform as 19th and 20th century coins.
