You may be able to win one on ebay for $40. If you want to pay below $40, you could look at the AU58's, those are nice too! I just noticed under your avatar, Food Stamp Aficionado. I only have one 50 cent food stamp and it's not for sale! lol :D

Well correction I also have a 50c food stamp I was hoping you have one of the stamp style if they exist. I find it hard to believe the only denomination of the stamp style is 25c :(

Simple, high quality Morgans are a metaphorical dime a dozen. High quality Walkers far less so.

I bought a MS61 one for $18 a while back. They are out there, you just gotta look. Also why does it need to be graded? I’m sure you can get a decent raw Walker for even cheaper.

    Yes.

    1) Do you have any reputable coin shops near you?
    2) coin shows
    3) Heritage
    4) great collections

Is it a "used to be" MS61, or a today MS61? I'd gladly and immediately pay more, sometimes MUCH more, for today's AU55 than today's MS61.

Wake up, Kurt, you just illustrated "circular argument". ;)

As I've read, silver dollars were always unpopular in most of the country -- people preferred paper money over heavy, bulky coins. But silver interests lobbied to make sure plenty were minted, so many of them just sat in bags.

Half dollars, on the other hand, circulated a lot, at least until the 1960s. Walkers had 20 to nearly 50 years to circulate, and most of them show it. (Barbers tend to be even flatter, but they started out with a flatter design.)

If you got a half dollar in change, you'd be unlikely to just tuck it away somewhere, because that was a big chunk of change -- something like $5-10 today. A silver dollar was an even bigger chunk, of course -- but you'd never get that in the first place, because you'd ask for a one-dollar bill instead.

    At least, that's my understanding.

It all depends on how MS you want. You probably can get a 40's walker in MS 63 for under $40; possibly a 64.

    SilverDollar2017 Morgan dollars

Walkers circulated more than Morgan dollars. Remember that Morgan dollars were not popular in their day and many were stored in mint state. That's why we have so many mint state Morgans today. However, Walker half dollars were popular and were used and circulated heavily. Therefore, there are fewer mint state examples than you might think.
Yes, you can find an NGC/PCGS/raw Walker that's MS for less than $40 on eBay. I've seen several in the $20 - $40 range recently.
Here's one for sale in an old fatty NGC holder: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-Walki...392422&hash=item3f9c4ad6aa:g:cpIAAOSwDMNa9Dmp

Well, I can tell you this. I bought the coin about 5 years ago and who knows how long it was around till it got to me.

Late Walkers are beyond plentiful in MS. Don't make this more complicated than necessary.

There are plenty of MS Walkers available on eBay in raw form. The problem is finding a NGC certified walker for nearly the same price as the grading fee it took to get it there. I've picked up numerous Unc Walkers that are raw for under $30.00, those are very plentiful.

Nothing circular at all. Post #12 says it all.

If you look you can find a nice slabbed MS63 for the price you are looking for. The walker population tends to be more worn as almost all were circulated, unlike a vast population of Morgan dollars that were stored in bags for decades.
