Serial number checks out. But the label seems strange. Can you blow up the picture for the Lincoln pros to check?

I blew up the reverse and don't see a VDB.
    The S looks funky too.

I can't see the VDB. Maybe because it's upside down. Could you post a clearer picture with the reverse showing right side up? I just enlarged the photo at 100X and still couldn't see the VDB.

Probably a genuine coin, but definitely not VDB.
Does the edge of the slab show evidence of tampering?

I can't be sure because the photos themselves are just that touch out-of-focus, but the label lettering looks fuzzy/coarse to me. I'd be nervous that it's a faked slab, not just tampered.

nice BIG fingerprint on the reverse side around the ONE for a 63.

"buy the coin, not the (fake) slab" I think would be a wise thing on this one??

It seems to be a real coin, but probably not the one expected. I believe it’s not too hard to fake older slabs compared to the newer generation of holders. Maybe the label is original, but the slab is fake, who knows. @Conder101 may be able to tell. Also the cert lookup doesn’t include pictures, so a potential buyer may be fooled easily.

All I can say is I have never seen a fake PCGS slab from that generation of holder. PCGS was several generations later than this when the fake slabs began appearing. This slab would have also been from before PCGS began posting any images on their certificate verification site (It was before NGC was posting images too.) I think this may be what they would call a "mechanical error". It should have been a 1909 S not an SVDB. Only other possibility I could see is they may have called it an SVDB because it looks like the rev die may have been an SVDB die that has had the initials ground off. Notice the thickened beveled area where the VDB should be.

Is there an S on the coin? I can't see it.

So, these are seller photos, then?

It looks for all the world like someone did a rectangular selection of the date from another image and pasted it onto this one.

I have never seen a picture of a pcgs label that looks like that. I think it is an 09-s in a concocted piece of plastic.

Lol sorry for the crappy pics, the VDB is there, it just cant be seen in these photos.

I pulled the trigger on this coin several years ago, i dont want to ruin the poll but i can hint that it is no longer in that slab.

Well, what say you fellas? Real or fake

@RobsCoins I’d like to hear what you have to say about this. It sure looks like a bad copy&paste job...
