Ironically funny AT coins on E-Bay

I normally don't post E-Bay auction listings to show that a seller is distributing AT coins. There are so many peddlers of AT crap on E-Bay that it really isn't worth my time. This seller however has merited special attention. His coins are actually somewhat attractive, some have actual rarity, and the photos by E-Bay standards are excellent. But the creme de la creme is the border for his auctions that shows a paint brush and a some vivid colored paint. Priceless!

Check out his other auctions. I really like the proof Washington and might even bid on it.

He could use an oven and some Taco Bell napkins for the other borders, I guess. I found the Buffalos a bit disturbing. Not so much the colors as the distribution/pattern/sequencing.

The proof does look pretty good. Looks like he ATs them with direct heat. What do you think Lehigh?

TY! I just won a couple Lincolns from him. I know they are AT, but I am putting together an "interesting" set of Lincolns. They fit rather well in there and they were not expensive.

I don't know that much about AT methods and what patterns they produce. What I do know is that his coins, although attractive are AT. What I want to know is how accurate his photos are and whether they are juiced thereby improving the appearance of his AT wares. If the photos are accurate, I would not be opposed to having some of these AT coins in my collection (at a discount price of course). I think I will bid on the proof Washington and if I win, take some photos of my own for comparison.

I believe he chose that, so as to display that his auction was honest, at least if you go by the philosophy that a picture is worth a thousand words :)

I just got the 2 Lincolns I won from him (1945 and 1950. His pictures are EXTREMELY accurate, although the Lincoln itself is a little redder than pictured. I will post my pictures tonight.

And everything he sells all have similar color and patterns...copper through silver, early dates to current dates.

And nice catch on noticing how he posted his tools of the trade as his border :mouth: It's like showing chefs in the kitchen of a 5-star restaurant opening cans and using the microwave.

So I have two questions. Do you think the coins are AT, NT, or MA (market acceptable)? How do you change the names on your links?

FWIW, the Lincolns look the most acceptable toning of his offerings and I find many of them to be market acceptable yet still questionable.

I am not at all an expert on toning, but just a stab, the 1945 has a shot at natural, but the 1950 I would not think. He is a quick and dirty picture. My colors are brighter than the coins

Just another scam artist. Seems like a lot of work for what he's bringing in on most auctions. Way too much hassle for what he's making.

Then he sprinkles in some higher ones like that seated dollar, hoping somebody buys that for a grand. Then they can go to re-sell it at a dealer and find out they won't even buy it from them because it's damaged!

I have no respect for this seller. I'll group him in with the rest of the scumbags on there.

Both of those coins would end up in genuine holders if submitted to PCGS. NGC has stayed a little more liberal dealing with color coins but I doubt they would find either of those two market acceptable.

More importantly, how do you change the name of a link. You made your links the year of the coins. The NGC forum has a option to do so but CT doesn't. What HTML tags do you use to do that?

CT absolutely does. Just click on "insert link" (the globe with glasses). As soon as you insert the link, type in the name. That link inserts two titles and you are typing over the second. If you type nothing, it uses the original name or you can go back later and overtype the second name.

BTW, my guess is that you are right about the Lincolns. I just thought that the 45 would have a shot. I have read somewhere that the flaking of the toning is almost never seen on AT coins.

I am feeling pretty dumb, I can't get the link re-name thing to work.

Oh BTW, who are you kidding! You aren't sending them in for grading anyway. They are fun coins and whether they are NT or AT, it is of little consequence.

You can also bookmark the page with your browser, this will let you name it whatever you want, that's the way I do it with Firefox.

Certify $4 dollar coins. No way. But that 1945- is not too bad looking.

I just clicked on the globe, pasted the link in the box that popped up, hit "OK" and typed its new name. Then I went back and added the affects. There is nothing to it. Here is what it looks like without the ULR brackets. The name you see begins at {B}{COLOR....
