Good morning all! I have a question about this coin my husband just bought on ebay.
It is an Irish 3 pence from 1968. Here is the description that was posted that convinced him to go ahead and purchase it.

***BY THE CENTRAL BANK OF IRELAND -NEVER CIRCULATED - RARE FIND-

    NO RESERVE- LOW STARTING PRICE***

What are your thoughts? Does anyone know any good dealers on ebay?

    Thanks~

Hi Meesha, and a belated welcome to the forum.
There are many, but it depends on what you are looking for. I could reccomend some dealers in Japanese moderns, but for anything else my only clues are their feedback, location (I don't buy from China, including Hong Kong), and the feeling I get about their knowledge and approach to coin selling from reading their listings.

I strongly suspect that your hubby paid quite a bit over the $1.50 Uncirculated catalog value of the Irish 3d (KM#12a), which is pretty common, with a mintage of 4-million. :(

BTW the seller flunked one of my tests for good dealers, based on his excessive hype.
