irish hammered

    i have what seem's to be an edward 1 halfpennie 1272-1307 but iam trying to confirm coin type and grade olso 1790 what seems to be half guineas your help as allways needed

    The first one looks like a Edward 1 but I can't attest to authenticity and I can't help with the other. :goofer:

    Alas, you catch me without any references. From what I see, it appears to be a penny of one of the Edwards, Dublin mint. Unfortunately, Irish coinage of Edward appears to fall just outside the range of the Fitzwilliam's Corpus of Early Medieval Coin Finds. The reference you want to look for is Spink's guide to the coinage of Ireland, Scotland, and the Channel Islands.

    Thank's you so far but i have not got a spinks guide and the other is what i would like to know
    Stop killing the forg and i dount like see a man that is torn just hope it is not over my coin's

    Thank's jimmy i have taken a pic from the site ef so he has graed it what do think my would grade beside it
    But he has also said it was the best he could find
    Anybody know anything about the 1790 coin

    Oh that's what this is about, hammered coins. I just thought seeing Irish and hammered in close proximity like that in the title suggested something different. Anyway, very nice. :thumb:

    us irish are not alwayes drinking but we like a sup
    But i dont know where you are from so i cant say anything you but dont go thinking you know it all
    I hope i am not insullten anybody on coin talk

    No you're not insullten anyone. At least, not yet, anyway, you have to do better than that. To answer your question, Sicily ancestry, here. We have our own stereotypes to deal with.

    The 1790 is not a genuine coin, it is a common gaming token.
