Inventory time for my Modern Commemoratives

I have all the modern commemorative, halves and dollars, from 1982 up to 2021. I'm sure there are duplicates. I'm done adding to the series. Inventory will be a challenge.

Is there a reason that you've decided to stop at 2021?

Looks like you have a lot of stuff there!

I always try to keep up with inventory within a couple weeks of buying something... otherwise I'll just get lost and have a thousand things to update.

 

2021 was the end of the original ASE's, the end of the ATB Quarters and the start of some new long series. The new Morgan and Peace were coming out. The Innovation Series had just started. I decided to just clean up and maintain my current collections.

 

That seems reasonable, thanks for the answer. I don't follow modern coins too closely, but that feels like a good transition.

 

For most of your reasons, I did as well.

My initial focus was no more CPZ cents and it escalated to all denominations.

I began to split my collection between my 2 sons, so I told them both that 2021 was the end, that I would no longer be keeping anything past that year and if they wanted any year beyond that then they needed to get off their numismatic butts and apply the training I gave them to do so cuz it was time for me to focus on final projects. They now have 40% each of my collection started in 1962, I still am working on several projects of currently owned coins plus I am on the
lookout for 19th century firsts. Working on coins ( and posting on CT ) has never slowed down, but my time and energy is being put to a more efficient use.

I made it clear I was not ill or dying, just that the time was needed elsewhere.
