This newly-acquired coin surprised me in many ways. First the reverse looks silver, whereas the obverse shows clear bronze or red copper, especially on the whole neck pf the Emperor. I rubbed harshly there, but the color remained. Second, the coin is small in size(23 mm) compared to its weight which is 12.74 g. So it's thick and probably it's a Tetradrachm. The Emperor himself seems easy to identify, but I hesitated between Septimius Severus and Caracalla. The legend is in Greek on obverse, while there's no apparent legend on reverse which reveals an eagle standing on a thunderbolt. Please post a comment if you have. Thanks.
7Calbrey, Your coin is a Nero Tet from Antioch, Syria, probably McAlee 264, Year 10, AD 63/64, & worth very little in that condition .
