Hello, I am considering subscribing to a price guide that provides internet access. I am not that interested in purusing the hard copies. Are any of these guides worth the price? Which of them are the better ones, and are there any access problems to any of that that I should be aware of? I primarily want to use them for guidance on trends and possibly culling or enhancing my collection. Obviously, the ones that are more reasonably for a sell by a non-dealer (or dealer wholesale prices) would be very helpful. Thanks to anyone who cares to respond. This is a great set of forums, and I read the comments almost daily, but usually feel imtimidated in trying to respond or comment to most of the questions or discussions.
please don't be afraid to post..your views are as valid as anyones....i personally use auction sites like heritage and teletrade , ect for my price guides...you can go back and look at the actual coin sold for a given price..nothing really shows the market better in my own opinion...also compare retail prices thru dealer lists...lots of info available for free. heritage really has a great site for reference....steve
Realized auction prices are always the best bet for use as a price guide and Heritage, Teletrade and eBay are all free. Although with eBay you must atke into account that some of the bidders tend to overpay. You can also access the CDN Greysheets on line and download them directly onto your computer - no need to subscribe to a hard copy at all. You just have to keep in mind that Greysheet prices are wholesale. As for any other price guides either on-line or in print, I wouldn't even bother.
