Wow I was surprised to see the new look of Cointalk today. I've been away for a few weeks. Quick question for some of you coin dealers. If you are US based and you want to sell coins to International customers what is the best way to ship. My understanding is that USPS will not track or insure international mail. The coins that I would be selling of coarse would be through ebay and probably not worth more than $80.
Be careful with the regulations. I suggest a trip to USPS.com to see what they say about shipping coins / currency overseas. Some countries do have restrictions on this type of material though generally they are referring to spendable money rather than collectable coins. Personally, I have a notice right on the front page of my website stating that I only ship to USA addresses. I am willing to give up the extra sales to avoid the hassles of dealing internationally. Personally, I never ship coins or notes internationally. And I never ship bullion internationally. That's my policy. However, since you need to ship internationally, USPS Registered Mail is the most secure. All of the USPS' services are detailed online at the link.
