Well yesterday started the Chicago International coin Fair here. It is usually massive in size. It is only about 5 miles from where I live. It is easy to get to for me. If I was younger I'd walk there. It lasts from Thursday to Sunday. It is something I looked forward to since the one last year. OK so here is the problem. My son, now living in Tennessee decided to come in for the weekend. His wife had a baby last November making me a grandfather for the first time. They have not been here since and I am not healthy enough to go there to see my grandchild. This may be the only time I see them for years. They are not interested in coins at all. So do I make an excuse and go to the Coin Fair or .................................?
Too bad your grandchild is that young. Otherwise I'd suggest that you two go to the coin show. For me it would usually be family first, especially if you do not see them very often. But if you can go to the show spontaneously (ie. don't have any appointments at specific times there), maybe there will be an opportunity to go there for a short while the baby and the parents get some rest? Christian
Your grandchild lives too far away for you to conveniently visit, so what's the question I love coin shows, but I my grandkids!
