I have never seen a slab labeled “Baldwin’s Basement” which was indeed a very famous location from which were retrieved many great rarities - this is not one of those but is fairly condition scarce and likely as nice as can be found, and just past the famous 1933 dated coin (BTW one of those IS for sale at Heritage next month). I’m afraid this is as close as I’ll get besides a proof 1933 halfpenny.
LOL,well we have only one very small black cat and she rules the place - spoiled brat! She does not like coins as opposed to some cats that I've had that liked to come sit or lay on them, especially if I was looking at them. Our little one doesn't care for this coin either but I find it quite pleasant. The remarkable think besides it being well preserved at MS67 is the attribution to Baldwin Basement. I have seen one other graded MS66 with the same attribution - wonder if there were any other coins or if this attribution is searchable somehow in the NGC database.
There are 10 of them in Heritage auction archive. https://coins.ha.com/c/search-resul...s-Desc&Nty=1&Ntt=baldwin+basement&limitTo=all
Whooo... a 67! Wow! Same, same. We have about that many inside (with a similar number outside). Just had to move one from my chair in order to sit down at the desk.
That '34 is a bit of a belter. Pete would go mad for it - not on here but I think you know who I mean.
Well, that makes me feel better that there was not a roll or bag of them! LOL. My son wants a Sealpoint Siamese to go with this black baby but I think she would not be too crazy about company. Remember Rudyard Kipling's "The Cat That Walks Alone"?
The blue tip Siamese male we had when I was a teen was very vocal and bossy, but did well with the other cat that came later into the house, but it helped that she was a type-B personality to his type-A personality.
