Interesting looking 1981 cent

    Greetings!
    Can anyone shine some light on this one for me? (I am a nooby at this )
    Notice inverted LIB on the shoulder twice
    Also what seems to be lettering on the back rim

    Welcome. :)

    The odd damage to the rim makes me suspect that this coin was altered outside the mint. Namely, someone put 3 coins together in a "sandwich" form. This coin was the middle. On the heads side, a coin was on top of it heads facing down. On the tails side, another coin was below it. When the 3 were squeezed together, both the top and bottom coins imprinted their design on the middle coin (the one you have). Hope that makes sense. This coin is not an error and is only worth 1 cent in my opinion.

    Special? No.
    It's called a squeeze job. It's been crushed between other coins in a vise.
