saw this coin on ebay and bid on it, its labeled as:

    '1914'
    Wilhelm II
    Deutscher Kaiser Konig v Preussen
    Declaration of War Coin
    Silver
    Legend on Reverse Reads :
ICH KEN NE KEINE PARTEINE MEHR ICH KENNENUR DEUTSCHE! WILHELM II
NACH DERTHRONREDE AM 4 AUGUST 1914
Small writing on the truncation reads:
    L.UHR.LAUER NUERNBERG
    Around the Rim Reads:
    SILBER 890

I could not find this coin in the usual sources and its the first one of its kind I have seen. Even though I could not find a value for it I decided to buy it because of its historical significance. I had the high bid until like 2 seconds before the end of the auction and someone snatched it from me :( I hate that...anyone know where another of its type can be found or anything more about this coin?

If it is a coin it would have a monetary value like 5 Mark. I thinking that it's a silver round or medal.

    Drusus,
This piece is a propaganda statement from Kaiser Wilhelm II that reads "I KNOW NO MORE PARTIES I KNOW ONLY GERMANS" which is not exactly a declaration of war but is a call for unity of all political parties in order to prepare for war. Here is a paragraph detailing a meeting on August 4,1914,the date on your medal that was struck to commemorate this event.
"After the Russian mobilization from 31 July 1914 the feeling in the German public that a war was about to be forced upon and the whole nation had now to stand together more firmly than ever before. A meeting of all opposition parties including the (SPD), social-democratic party closed with the sentence” I know no more parties,I know only Germans” as stated by emperor Wilhelm II,signaling his intention to the break with the past government politics in the interest of unification"
Even though Wilhelm himself probably didn't write this,he later autographed photos of himself containing this statement in his own handwriting.
