Pisidia Antiochia... http://www.wingsofeaglesct.com/PAULS_MISSIONARY_JOURNEYS/1mission_4.html is a place 30 miles away from my hometown. I had visited that ancient town, belong to Hellens and then Romans, years ago. There were water ducts in the town built on a small hill. Those water ducts, made of marbles, were broken. When I visited there I was told that there was a worker strike (claimed to be first worker strike in the history) during Roman period, against emperor Tiberius. However, on that page, it says "the grievance was resolved without bloodshed." Anyway, during those years, there were a lot of riots against Roman empire and in those days, tent maker then St Paul gave his first speach during those troubled days for Romans. If Romans were not weak then already (early first century AD), then, St Paul could not have preach there in Pisidia Antiochia, could he.
Anyway, it is another empire rise&fall due to false use of technology, ignorance, that is also reason for disappearences of Silphium and many other natural herbs.
