This obviously caught my eye while digging thru change. I immediately thought it was stamped by a 3rd party....regardless,it is quite interesting and got the blood flowing this morning. Thoughts?
That's not any kind of Mint Error Someone stamped it with some strange design. The other side is smooshed because of the blunt force to the Obverse.
@paddyman98 my thoughts exactly. Its neat tho,and a breath of fresh air after culling thru endless dimes to no avail.
The dime has a crooked mint mark, too. Counterstamp experts need to weigh in on this, and might recognize the pattern used, alas, I have no expertise for them. What year did the mm get put on the hubbing dies, I keep thinking it was '93. If not '99, then a whole bunch of crooked mint mark dimes were made that year coming out of Philadelphia...that means way too common for value...still, the mint mark looks fairly wonky...Spark
