I’m probably gonna get roasted for even making this post but I don’t mind. This thing looks bizarre to me.... like there’s a shadow of his face in front of his face or something. I see it behind his head too, as well as what looks like it could’ve been letters around different parts of the rim that got removed, specifically above his head. And don’t get me started on that ear lobe or whatever that big curve is beneath it. Maybe the faint remains of a 3rd S on the initials but only visible in pics 2 and 3. Finally the reverse between the top left of the Monticello building and the E of EPU looks like some text might have been erased from that area? I tried to get the light at a couple different angles hopefully someone can see what I’m talking about and explain.
All of the parallel striations that are so easily visible on both sides are indicative of extreme die deterioration. Perhaps that has something to do with the odd looking shadows. ~ Chris
