Hello...I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what these specific notes are and possibly their value? I just inherited a large collection of currency from my grandfather from KY. I will post more of the collection if anyone would desire to see them. I am more of a coin person myself...however I will not be selling these as they have been in the family for a long time. Thanks for looking.

I'm not a currency collector, but let's see what I can do here.

The top one is an series 1891 large size silver certificate. Portrait is of Daniel Manning, Secretary of the Treasury 1885-87.

The second one is the Compound Interest Treasury note of 1865. They were intended to circulate for three years and paid 6% interest compounded semi-annually. They were issued to help offset the cost of the Civil War. No idea who the portrait is though.

The bottom one is the series 1891 $50 silver certificate. Portrait is of Edward Everett who ran for Vice President in 1860.

As for values - as with coins it depends on condition - I know that much. Perhaps someone else will be able to offer more help ;)

I believe that portrait to be a likeness of General Winfield Scott.
