Today I received an unusual quarter in change. It is lighter, brighter and it really stands out against other quarters. I am almost positive it is all silver. The date on it is 1964. Can anyone help?

That was the standard composition of U.S. coins with a face value of 10¢ or more through 1964, after which we went to the current cu-ni, cu, cu-ni ham sandwiches.
