I am completely clueless to foreign note collecting trends etc. In terms of 20th century foreign notes, where do 1940's Banque de I'ndochine (Indochina) notes rank? High, medium, or routine/common collectible? Thanks.

You are not giving enough information to respond to. The Banque was responsible for issuing notes from the horn of Africa (Djibouti) to the Pacific Islands (Tahiti) and many places in between (French India and Indo-China). Some of these are common, some are scarce.

Oh okay. Thanks for that. These are all from Vietnamese (mints?) presumably since the reverse has vietnmaese writing on them. I have some 100 piastres, 50, 20, 10, and 5. All from the mid 1940's.

Many of the Banque de l'Indochine notes were printed in France actually. I collect them, and certainly many others do as well. I wouldn't consider the area as "hot" as some others, but the good news is that they are more affordable. As always, nice crisp Unc notes are far more expensive than circulated ones.

Here's a grouping of them from my collection that you may find interesting.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Most of mine are not crisp, but are fairly scarce based on what I can discern. One is a blue 100 piastres 1945 (I think), and another is a beautiful orange/red 50 piastres (1946, I think). I'll probably post them all on fee-Bay next week. Thanks for your input.

Here are some of what I have. Anything greatly exciting?

The french one at top left is the most exciting to me. It's a beautiful note, but unfortunately its condition it pretty bad. All of them look to be $3-$10 apiece, retail, though the french one may fetch a bit more.
