We had some family in town today and they wanted to check out the Indianapolis Children's Museum. They change their themes quite a bit. The last time we were in they had an area devoted to China and its history, that section now has not been turned in a Greece exhibit. I had to look to see if there were any coins. There were only 2 cases that I could locate with coins. #1 #2 The collector in me was a little disappointed but to be honest the kids there showed no interest.
It is a bit lack luster. But it's still an attempt. Maybe if they had some medusa head coins or Fel Temp Fallen Horseman. I know when I was in elementary school through the 80s, it was the violence, gore, bones, & things of that nature that caught my interest, as well as many of my classmates. But maybe times have changed.
I'm not suggesting that I feel old but the last time I visited the Indianapolis Children's Museum we actually paid for admission with Corinthian staters. Glad to see the place is going strong!
It's really nice that a children's museum would have an archeological exhibit, with tangible objects that they can relate to. I wish San Jose had something like that.
