Nice. Great feather detail and full liberty's on both. Rims look in good shape. Detail on the reverses great, Arrows and ribbon still sharp. Could be the photo's, but the 1909 S looks like it has a tiny bit more wear than the 1908 S, however both are nice coins and would do any IHC album justice. Really like the 8 S.
They both look great, the 08s especially. Have fun with the series, I really have enjoyed collecting them.
very nice indians.....both coins are great values, IMHO......not necessarily sleepers, I call them nappers.....
I'd have guessed the 09 was an XF, thats a nice coin. Now for that pesky 77 before they shoot into the stratosphere...oh wait.
Nice going. Looks like you are using the recommended (but rarely followed) advice, "Buy the keys/semi-keys first." Like bqcoins said, "Now for that pesky 77 ..." And he's correct about the price moving up, and quickly. I bought the 1877, the '08-S and '09-S and that's it for my IHC's. Don't have any others except the 3 for my typeset. And I don't plan to pursue that set.
The 09-S came from our very own Hunstman53 !! I have a complete set, sans the 77, but in lower grades. I am now on the XF/AU quest, with BR uncs when I can afford. I also have the luxury of being an hour drive from Rick Snow in Tucson who will be helping me along as I learn the series. Nobody could ask for a better mentor !!
Very nice coins, Jack. I'm always upgrading my set. My '77 will have to stay at AG3 for quite a while. The Indians are a real satisfying set to collect with some of the varieties easily acquired. Bruce
VERY NICE! Those Indians are a nice series to collect from what I've seen, to pricey for me to move on to, lol. (You are still sticking to Lincoln's also, right? ) :thumb: Phoenix
