I bought this because it's cool looking and because @mrbreeze was right next to me and would have grabbed it if I didn't. No idea what country but India makes sense. Beyond that I don't know what century to start in or whether I'm looking at it upside down. Any help would be appreciated. 12.9g and roughly 23mm square Thanks Jim
Word of advice, don't let H8_Modern get to the 50% off books before you do. Akbar temple token according to my initial research
My gut instinct is that it's from the Mughals in India, either a rupee or a token copy. Will see if I can narrow it down further.
I think it's a temple token that is a copy of a Mughal empire rupee from Akbar. Or, it could be a real example as I have never seen the real thing or the copy, but I'm sticking with token. According to one source, it dates around 1914 if it's the copy.
