    16 mm square, 7.97 g.

Interesting square coin of Mahmud Shah II, an infant ruler of Bengal during the Malwa Sultanate, who ruled from 1489-1490 until he was murdered, according to Wikipedia. I'm not sure why this coin attributed to 1524 would be in his name, if the attribution and/or dating are accurate? I suppose maybe it could have been a posthumous issue? Anyway, I'm relying on the prior seller's attribution here, since I personally have little knowledge of Indian coins. I just thought this one was kind of neat looking, and it was inexpensive.

Yep. A recognized seller, then, I gather? Or maybe the tipoff was his use of a Mercury dime for scale? These are the seller's images.

I bought this a year ago, and had I not kept records of who I buy stuff from, I would have had no clue what you meant about a "Beazley buy". :p

The holder and dime were the clues. "Beazley" is ebay user name (partial) of the seller I keep on my favorites list. Many purchases from him, a lot of India and other Asian issues. Probably a Malwa or two included.
