This listing for an 1822 dime just appeared in Ebay.

This is clearly not an 1822 dime. Note the position of the date in relation to the bottom curl. I am attaching an image of a genuine 1822 dime for comparison.

I'm giving the seller the benefit of the doubt as this is a mistake often made, for example with low grade 1823 dimes.

How does one go about informing the seller. If anybody can help it would be very beneficial.

It's easy. On the coin's bid page, clicking "Contact Seller" takes you to the page where you can type your message. The message is relayed to the seller automatically referencing the item number and including the picture. I've done this a few times and the responses have all been positive thank yous and the corrections made. Assuming of course that your observation is correct.

It seems to be an 1823/2 JR-3.

Ok I found the listing, seller sure does have a negative feedback record.Hopefully he/she responds in a respectful manner. Not sure though since that would put this coin in the $100 range more or less instead of $1,000+.

You found it. In that condition an 1823/2 is probably worth less than 20 bucks.
