I just dropped by the NGC forum only to learn some very sad news. One of our members there, Chad Williford aka munkeyman95, passed away on April 30 after a brief illness.

He was only 17 years old, dammit!

Why does life have to be so cruel?

My condolences, I hate when the younger than I pass. Like when I see it on the news some poor kid blown up in iraq at the age of 18... bothers the heck out of me. I know the ones I hear about aren't the only ones that suffer, things are tough all over, but it still doesn't make it any easier to bear.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The only thing I've heard is that he had a "brief illness." I'm very surprised to hear of this sudden loss. For those of you who didn't know Chad, he was a really great guy - always helpful, always nice, and always had a good word. He was the sort of YN everyone wishes they knew.

Man I hate to hear that. It goes to show you have to be thankful for your health that you do have because there is always someone out there that has it worse than you.
I will keep his family in my thoughts

Chad was a good guy. I knew him quite well over the 4+ years that he posted on the various coin boards. It's a darn shame.

Monkey was a good kid. The news saddens me deeply. My deepest condolences to his family -- I can only guess their grief and offer the hollow words of sorrow at his passing. :(

I saw the post about this young boy's passing on the PCGS thread. It's truly horrible when someone so new to life is taken so suddenly. My heart and prayers are with his family. They have started a collection over there for those wanting to contribute to his memorial fund: http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=774679
