Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum here and I was hoping to get some information. I was doing some CRH and I got a full box of uncirculated 2017 dimes. I was bummed at first, but then I found about 25 of these (all uncirculated). What do you guys think? If they are "black beauty" dimes, what kind of value do they hold? Thanks for any input!
Welcome aboard! Can you take some photos with the coin next to (or even better, surrounded by) "regular-looking" dimes from the box? That'll give us a better idea of what it actually looks like.
If that many were found together in a uncirculated roll then there is a big chance that they are Improperly Annealed. Can we see all the Dimes together?
They need to be put in plastic and authenticated to be worth much more than $.10. Search E-bay for some listings and sold items of improperly annealed coins.

First let me say welcome to CT. I live in South Florida last year I came across about 30 of these gold looking dimes. They weighed out within the tolerances, but ended up these dimes have been electroplated to represent something that they were not. These kind of dimes that I had were generally sold for about $.35 each as training coins for coin clubs. A lot of people on eBay that sell coins do not know what they have and mislead the public. So be absolutely sure what you have before you put it on eBay. USMC60
That's why I'm trying to get input from many different sources. I'd hate to sell something fake. The only thing that leads me to believe they are real is that all of the dimes were uncirculated, no signs of scratches or wear.
If I may asked another question what are you examining your coins with.? The only reason I'm asking is because a fake coin has markers indicating that it is fake. Take for example the two Dimes that I'm showing the one at least on the right is a BU 2016 P. With signs of ben or bag marks. Look at the four head you'll see that little kris just below the hairline. Now take a look at the coin on the left that little kris almost disappears. This only tells me that something has been layered over the kris to make it start disappearing. Now you mention uncirculated no marks. To me that throws up a flag. Very few coins that I have seen from the mint that our business strike has no sign of Ben or bag marks. Going through thousands of coins a week I find it very rare to find a coin with no marks at all. I wish you the best in finding out what you have. The only other thing I could just suggest. If you have a coin show coming up in your area you may want to take it to that and have it checked out, or see if you have a coin shop in your area that can check it out for you. USMC60
Ok, upon closer inspection with a loupe I do see mini marks (nics) on the dimes and no detail is lost between these and a 2017 dime.
