2 rolls of 1943 steelies and over 220 other wheats!

My guess is that someone took their parents rolls to the bank for booze money etc...

Any other reason rolls like that would be at a bank?

    Cheers,

    Scott

Someone up in age who used to collect, and no longer has interest/no one to pass the coins on to?

Wow! Nice find there lol. I found my first steelie along with 2 others and i was ecstatic. I can't imagine what it would have been like to fine two whole rolls! My opinion on why there were rolls such as those is the same as slamster17's. Either they were a collector that gave it up or were just elderly and had cool coins they collected when they were little.

Gratz on the find. People do strange things when relatives pass away. My aunt informed me (two weeks late) that she had taken a large pickle jar full of wheat cents to the bank after my uncle passed away. But isnt that why we roll search :)

When my grandmother passed 10 years ago, her brothers took a large coffee can full of indian head pennies she had and rolled them up and took them to the bank!!!!!!!

Mostly commons - a TON of 44's and a few 1909's and couple of indian heads.
