I have no clue what these are. I am an armature coin collector and am just curious about these. I know all 3 are the same but that's about it lol also this dime not rly sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome to CT, Vincent. What you have is three "large cents" (Pictures 1,2) and a "seated liberty" dime (Pictures 3,4). One of your large cents has a counterstamp on the obverse, which I can't make out, but are of interest to some collectors. You have a good start to a collection.
Thank you for the response. I have a few more coins but I did some research on them and they are the wheat leaf penny's and a few other old penny's. I think a few are Indian head Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good to have you here Vincent. Could you tell me what the counterstamp says? I might be able to help you with that one since I collect them. Bruce
I can't rly make it out lol. I'll try to take a better pic later but as of now I have no clue lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Vincent, from one newcomer to another, WELCOME! Looking forward to seeing more coins from your collection as it grows! I've been collecting world coins since I was in the 1st grade 30 years ago. I'm still hooked after all these years. Coin collecting has been called the hobby of Kings! It's a great interest to have and something that builds an appreciation for history and geography. Enjoy my friend... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome to the hobby of kings, Vincent! I have only been collecting since 2011 but have found coins and CoinTalk to be hugely rewarding. Check out Geekpryde's post on Type Set. Look up each coin in the Red Book or on the web and you will take a Great Leap Forward in numismatics.
Yet another Welcome. I just had a closer look at that counterstamp and "played" with the image. And with a little help from this page http://www.exonumia.com/art/cmd.htm I could possibly see "M. F. TABER" there. But I could equally possibly be wrong. Moved your topic from "World" to Coin Chat, maybe somebody else will recognize something ... Christian
This looks like a job for Bruce (BRandM). He's the counter stamp guy 'round these parts. Welcome Vince......
