I thought it was just a dirt spot until I took a pic of it did I stumble on a double punched R from liberty right below the T ? I believe I'm right also on his shoulder there are some letters p r s I can see any advice on this I would greatly appreciate it
I don't see anything. You need a clearer picture. Could be glue with the image of another Cent. Just the letter R
I think it is the elusive 1972-D Dirty R under TY error. I have heard about these but never seen one pictured until now. Aren't they worth $?
I'm trying to see what the letters fully are on his shoulder but the R looks like the same size as the R in liberty
Sorry IMHO... It's nothing. Pareidolia is probably the issue here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia
Lol no I can see it clearly but the cam pics just don't cut it I did order new cam however it's not what it looked like on Amazon so gonna order a new one my friend is coming over with his so I'll take a few more
Sometimes people are so intent on finding an error that they have a tendency to look too hard for something that isn't really there. Chris
I don't know if it's a stain, it's a very convincing one I did find one of those kissing Kennedy pennies today pretty cool lol I just put it in the bank jar off to more later tomorrow goodnight everyone
Notice how the mark happens to correspond the stain in the surface. What you're seeing is the remnant of whatever is caused that corrosion. Usually, when you see corrosion, stains or other scratches and marks on a coin, there is a string likelihood that perceived error is PMD.
