In my short time collecting, I've managed to evade the gold bug...until now. Thanks to GDJMSP I'm in serious trouble! He is my 'enabler' ;) LOL. I am now the proud owner of my first gold coin...an 1895 French 20 Francs that is truly breathtaking.

Considering my limited photo abilities, maybe he would be so kind as to post a pic for me?????

Never could say no to a lady :D

The pics do not do the coin justice - don't even come close. The coin is very well struck & booming with luster. I would grade it as MS65. Any marks in the pics are on the holder not the coin.

But thank you GD, you're too kind.

The coin is a real stunner, I could get lost staring at the fabulous strike...and the luster just takes your breath away. To use this coin as a benchmark for any further additions will make it a tough act to follow.

Thanks again GD...you've opened up my eyes to a whole new aspect of collecting that I otherwise would have probably overlooked.

    Nuggets

    watch the coin
    Watch the coin

Now you are in the power of Gold

time to get a beautiful Australian Kangaroo Nugget
    Then a south African Kuggerand.
Then you really have the gold bug.

I've been bit before and now have a heard of roos residing in my safe deposit box.
Be careful the Australian Nugets breed and you end up with more than you want.
    Reason is they come in
    1/10th oz, 1/20th oz, 1/4th oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2oz, 10oz, 1kilo
That give collectors of every price bracket a chance -and the design on the Nugget changes each year as well so you don't get tired of looking at the same beautiful coin each year.

Come on Joes mom you are getting sleepy baby needs some new GOLD :D
