This coin was authorized to commemorate the 100th annivsary of the admission of Illinois into the Union, and was the first souviner piece for such an event.
Obverse by George T. Morgan, Reverse by J.R. Sinnock.
I am pleased to have been able to aquire this coin, it had some glue or something on the reverse which came of after a soak in acetone, but left some shine spots where it was. It is what it is, wear and all. If anyone wants to suggest a grade I would welcome it, these one year only coins are hard for me to distinguish the key wear points.
    Thanks for looking.

Hard to get a read on any luster, but, based on wear, I'd say it's AU-55.

Little typo in your post: Morgan designed the obverse, and Sinnock the reverse. It was Morgan's last design, IIRC as he died soon after completing it.

The envelope it came in had $90- written on it, but really it was partial payment for sevices rendered. If you want to call sorting 12,000 world coins work, because I had fun doing it.

Thanks for your keen eye, two Obverses don't work well.
Thank for your grade also. It is quite flat as far as luster goes.

Low AU........and lovely indeed. The reverse eagle is one of my 'fav' design elements of coins commemorative and modern US.

  9. AU 53 or 55. One of my favorite classic commemorative coins. TC
