Cool, let us know how it goes. A Morgan or Peace might be in there too.

There's a good Ike searching thread on another coin forum... forget which. But good find already.

Man, I wish I could find a bank that would order bags of Ikes for me.

Then again, it's not like I've spent much effort looking.

From what I understand, banks are able to order, they need to specify big dollars on their forms (write in). Probably also talk to the supplier first. Of course it's dependant on Loomis/Guarda/whomever having received 1000+ big dollars. That well runs dry quickly I'm guessing.

Hard part is convincing the vault teller that this is a real thing.

It took some doing to find a vault manager that was willing to be persistent enough to get them for me, most don't know how and will tell you it's not possable but... :)

    Here's my score for today:

    1 1881-CC !!, 1 1899-S, 1 1922, 1 1923-S, a Mexican Silver 5 Pesos Ano de Carranza 1859-1959, a 1971-S 40% Silver Proof, and lastly....a Silver Legacy $1 casino token. Oh yeah, and I was shorted $4, boo hoo!

Dayum! Looks to be about VF, which would make it approx $300 coin. It's real, right?

Usually when someone finds a key date around here, it's an older Jefferson nickel that's worth $5.

@vintagemintage, do you live near a Federal Reserve bank by chance? I have heard that makes a difference in whether or not you can get bags of Ikes...

Yes I do. I never thought about my proximity to a FRB as a factor but it makes a lot of sense.
