Do you store your Ike dollars in 2x2 cardboard staple-shut holders? I think they're too small. There is barely enough room to staple them shut and even when they are stapled, there are gaps along the edges where contaminants could get in. Need some suggestions. Thanks

You can get some airtights....or you can get clear 2x2 flips (or even the 2.5 x 2.5 flips) and heat seal them closed...

I have some 2.5 x 2.5 cardboard flips but they are the kind you staple. I do also have the plastic pages for the 2.5 x 2.5 cardboard flips. I'd really rather have everything 2x2 though. What do you use? I like to keep them in my 3-ringed D-binder.

Most everything is in 2x2 clear flips or 2x2 cardbord flips...then some of my mint and proof sets are in binders with pages that will hold them...and then slabs for my better coins.

I use many ways to store coins but flips are my pick.

How much do airtites cost each? Because i know you can get the 2X2 flips really cheap?

I don't want to use airtites as I want my collection displayed together as uniform as possible.

On that note, does anyone know a way to display a collection that is in airtites? I like airtites, but as David says, it is hard to display them.

Airtights cost a little over a dollar I think...GDJMSP would know a lot more about them then I do.

If you order them from the airtite catalog they are 90 cents each. Pricey when compared to cardboard holders, but I think they are great for raw uncirculated silver coins. No holder is truly, "air tite," but they do a better job than most. I end up keeping them loose in a box or something though and it makes the collection look very unorganized. You can get wooden frames for different sizes and amounts of airtites from the airtite catalog, but they are way too expensive IMHO.

You know what would be awsome?
If airtight and dansco teamed up to produce an album that held coins in air-tights!

That way you would have the best of both worlds ( no chance of slide-marks and a good way to display your collection! )

I buy airtites on ebay for like $50-$60 a hundred.

You can buy AirTites for under 50 cents each.

AirTite makes an album for displaying coins in their holders. You can find the holders and the albums HERE

I just recently converted my entire collection fron misc. holders to all AIRTITES. I purchased the display cards and boxes for the holders. You wanna talk about a professional looking display!!!! IMHO, Nothing looks better than coins displayed in airtites in the display cards and/or the folders. Even my wife remarked how much better and more expensive the collection looked.

I was so glad that I spent the extra $'s and switched to much better protection.
