Is anyone able to order boxes of Ike dollars from the bank, if so what places have you had any luck getting them from?
I've never heard of people getting boxes of Ikes. A few people have successfully ordered *bags*. I have never had any luck with that, nor do I know for sure what bank(s) they used. Any bank I've ever asked has been unable to order them in any amount.
Ikes were bagged by the thousand. I bought and searched about a dozen mint sewn bags back in the late 80's / early 90's when I could locate them. I haven't seen or heard of an unsewn bag in the past 20 years, but I'm quite sure some must still exist.
they are scarce but out there. I have a standing order for them with my fav bank. I went 10 months and none (they check every week for me) then 4 bags all at once. I'm guessing it takes them that long to get enough to bother counting and bagging.
