My inlaws are becoming aware of my great interest in US coins and because of that they like to give me some of their coins they've collected through the years. My grandmother in law gave me almost $120 in Bicen. Ike dollars. Other than keeping the ones in better shape is there really anything relivent with them that would make it worth keeping that many. If not I figured on exchanging them to help add to my other collections. Any suggustions. Bill
The Philly Var. I have a nice low mintage. I'd hang on to all of those plus anything else that could come close to MS.
Bi cent ikes There are type one and type two ....type ones have a bit more value, you can tell the difference by the style of font on reverse of coin type 1 has bold ''boxy'' letter type two are kind of italisized. Sometimes coin dealers can get 1.05 or 1.10 for nicely circulated pieces...
all Ike dollars are worth more than face value nowadays, about $1.10 +/- $0.05. As for the 1976 Bicentennial ones, I've seen dealers paying $1.15-$1.25 each for those in average circulated condition. So you might want to hold on them.
