After weeks of delays, I finally purchased the estate late last night. The box must weigh at least 60 pounds and I almost threw my back out loading it into the car. I stayed up as long as I could sorting and peeking into the dozens of bags. I managed to get through about 1/10th of it before I went to bed. This morning, I'm at work, then there's a coin show, then work again for a couple of hours and then back to the boxes. In addition to the coins that I had appraised, the seller tossed in a sack of wheats that she found and another small bag of world silver. She also added an envelope of paper money. No idea what's in it but I think it's all world banknotes. A couple of the highlights so far.....1925 Canada cent (key date); an album of Canada 50 cent pieces 1937-1967 (less the key dates); an 1848 U.S. Large cent; 1935 Canada silver dollar (ms63) and a 1939 Canada silver dollar (ms64). Pics will be posted tomorrow. It'll take a while to go through the whole thing. I've been watching for the oldest coin for the contest but I still need at least tonight to finish sorting. So, we're getting closer to the end of the contest. If anyone hasn't entered yet, do so as soon as possible.
