Evening all, I was going through my collection today and found 2 IHCs I totally forgot about. I stopped collecting and put all my coins away about 4 years ago, I'm slowly starting to rediscover some things. Also found a large cent and a walking liberty half. I need to go through my collection more often! Any thoughts on grades?
That gouge on the reverse side of the rim may cause the 1909 from being an MS (or MS Detail, cleaned) that 1907 I think would be AU55/58 possibly cleaned on that one but not sure. great looking coins.
I don't think they were cleaned. The lighting set up is making it look like they were. They look different in hand. They are both actually slightly toned. You could be right who knows. Thanks for the comments!!!!
The 09 has a nice cartwheel which of course you cant see. I might submit it to NGC, I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble.
unless it's going to carry a premium then I wouldnt bother..you would be spending more money then it;s worth
I agree with shoewrecky Mark. It's a nice coin though. I like the Large Cent best, it has nice even wear and and good eye appeal. I have a soft spot for old coppers, especially Large Cents and Half Cents. It's nice when you dig out some old coins you had forgotten about and come up with some as nice as these. Congrats! Bruce
Thanks Bruce, after finding those I need to go through a couple more boxes. I also came across a 2002 Canadian proof set I had bought when my daughter was born. We lived up there for 4 years. Not really worth anything but it means a lot to me. I thought it was lost, it made my day when I found it!
