how are these fancy? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-1-Doll...=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-1-Doll...-A21171521F-Fancy-Serial-BOSTON-/280979325771
The 2009, there is one digit appearing in the middle of the serial number, three times, with a different digit before and after the 3; 91733378 The 2006, the serial number begins with and ends with the same numbers, 2 and 1; 21171521
the one with 73337 i realized after i posted it, but i see those frequently enough i throw them back. is the 21 21 considered a bookend? i have thrown a few like that back too. i usuall just keep the 3 digits ones like 050 050 on each end. should i be saving the 2 digit ones as well?
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I will tell you that neither notes have "fancy" serial numbers. They are both "eBay fancy" notes that are worth nothing more than a scam to make a couple cents on the dollar for someone who could care less of the numismatist hobby. Now, here is a well put together list of real fancy serial numbered notes: http://reviews.ebay.com/Fancy-Bank-Notes-10-Most-Common-Categories?ugid=10000000001758931
those 2 bills ( and alot exactly like them) are selling for 6 a piece and they have no negative FB. i guess people will buy ANYTHING. on the flip side though, that link helped. i had a bill that started 12 and ended 12 and someone said it was not a bookend. so i threw it back
Ah, the magic of eBay! A place where, the fancier you make it sound, the more money you can get for it.
